Free Internet Advertising – Is it Worthwhile?

Advertising is the life blood of all businesses. So can free advertising have an impact on your business?

One thought is to advertise your business on free classified ads. But are they worthwhile? Some free classified advertising sites have a free submitter form for you to increase your advertising. It is cost-effective (free) and very quick in listing your product or service. It is accessible all the time and allows you to access it anytime. There are no fees to worry about.

So can free advertising grow your business? A number of these sites advertise that “Free internet advertising lets you put free ads on our premier quality web site. This benefit creates miracles for your business. Giving you thousands of new prospects…” and on and on.

I’ve advertising on a number of these free sites. Did I get thousands of new prospects? Not a one.

I’ve advertised on the following sites: Ad-Zoo and Traffic Blasters. I wouldn’t recommend them to anybody. I’ve run free ads on Ad-Zoo for over a month now and I’ve checked my statistics on it and I was surprised to see that I had a few people who opened the email…and literally none of them took advantage of my prospect. None of them. How disappointing.

Traffic Blasters had a number of “blasters” that they sell you for a small amount. I’ve run my free ads on those “blasters” for over a month now. No paying results. None. Further disappointment.

Traffic Blasters had quite a few free “blasters”. To name a few,”Safelist Mailer 1″, “Mail to 43 million daily”, “Submit to 50 million daily”, and on and on. I’ve mailed out ads to nearly 2 billion, 3 hundred million and haven’t made one sale. Now either they are not mailing my emails, or they have false addresses on them. I don’t know. I wish I did.

Now these “blasters” say that “advertising is best way to make your products or services known to the millions of prospective consumers in the Internet and start producing money”, but over 2 billion emails later, I still haven’t made one sale. There should be an “enormous audience for free internet advertising that’s present on the Internet, that the probability of anyone needing your services or wanting to buy your products is very high.”

Most free web sites have features like, a classified submitter – where you can supposedly get enormous exposure with instant results and expand your sales by large volumes over night, opt-in email lists – non spam bulk emailing program. Opt-in email lists are created by people who have “opted-in” their email addresses to the lists. These lists claim to be very effective for creating personalized email to prospective clients. But, I haven’t had any replies.

So, when these sites make claims of unlimited traffic and increasing your website exposure, stop for a minute, and ask them for some proof. They won’t give it. It’s their little secret.
